Product Description
Fatbikes.com introduces the new, 2013 9:ZERO:7 135mm Sliding Rear Dropout Frame. Named after the area code of Alaska, the 9:ZERO:7 is crafted out of 7005 aluminum and offers a host of features to optimize your fat tire experience. Starting with an elongated head-tube and longer chain-stays, the 9:ZERO:7 features six rack mounts, three water bottle mounts, fender mounts, and full cable housing.
Adopting the Pugsley offset chain-stay design, the 9:ZERO:7 Sliding Dropout accepts any standard 135mm mountain hub and offers a perfect chain line. Combined with a 100mm bottom bracket shell, this offers the owner an astounding selection of hub options. Pair whatever rear hub you desire with a rim width of choice, and you are ready for any fat tire adventure.
The frame features vertical dropouts (so a standard quick release skewer works great) that move horizontally along the chainstay. This alows for easy configuration with a single speed hub. However, the real kicker with this frame is the split on the drive side seatstay. The split allows for the implementation of a belt drive system. The belt drive can be paired with a single speed hub or an internally geared hub. This option is ideal for sandy or salty environments that can destroy a chain.
The hydroformed top tube dramatically improves standover height without adding excess weight, making it easier to get on and off the bike in soft conditions. A hydroformed down tube is used to enhance fork crown clearance and allows the use of many different kinds of forks.
